We are now looking for a highly motivated, proactive Practice Lead, to join the Americas team. This role has full responsibility for growing, developing and managing one of Bovill Newgate’s most important Practices. The Americas has long been a space in which our advice has been sought and where we want to be known and respected. Bovill Newgate has an ambition to grow significantly over the next four years and the successful candidate will need to embrace that growth ambition. The growth of the US business is also strategically important for the Ocorian group, and so the role comes with wider group opportunity and support.
This appointment provides a significant opportunity for the right individual to grow and develop the Practice working directly with clients across the sector collaborating with our experienced team of industry specialists. The successful applicant will be responsible for:
• Providing high quality advice and support to clients on a range of regulatory compliance matters. Conducting regulatory reviews, such as mock SEC inspections.
• Delivering training sessions and workshops for compliance; staff and senior management.
• Assisting with registrations and set up new registrants.
• Drafting policies and procedures.
• Responding to ad-hoc and routine regulatory queries.
• Managing projects, often with multiple workstreams. This includes project planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource management and project close-down.
• Acting as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients.
• Responsibility for growth of revenue in line with the company’s overall aspirations.
• Managing the practice P&L, in terms of controllable expenses, staff costs and discretionary spend.
• Developing 3 year practice business plan, including documenting strategy, targets and KPIs
• Representing the practice in global business planning process.
• Ensuring the full range of business development activity is in place to win new clients, grow existing clients and cross sell. Upskill and develop all resources in the practice to increase commercial awareness and maximise business development opportunities.
• Reviewing and renew current processes where appropriate to enhance current successes.
• Nurturing and develop key relationships, including a number of strategic accounts.
• Managing a highly talented, ambitious and successful team.
Successful candidates will have:
• A minimum of ten years compliance industry experience of US regulators and US market, providing consulting services to the sector
• Educated to degree level.
• Evidence of experience working in a fast-paced organisation with and entrepreneurial outlook and attitude
• Experience of positive change management, looking at current processes to encourage increased productivity and efficiency
• Ability to anticipate, monitor and manage compliance risks resulting from various investments and business activities.
• Ability to analyse industry regulations; adapt and develop policies and procedures to meet compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to exercise discretion and make independent judgments on all matters for clients.
• Excellent communication skills with the proven ability and drive to build, manage and maintain client relationships.
• Must be able to demonstrate strong organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience translating regulatory rules and guidance into meaningful, fit-for-purpose and pragmatic solutions for clients
• People management, managing teams both on-site and remote.
• A global outlook and experience of working alongside colleagues in other time zones and jurisdictions.
